Did You Know? TAMU-T College of Business earns accreditation awarded to only the top 5%

Texas A&M University-Texarkana has earned the AACSB International Accreditation for its College of Business, Engineering and Technology.  “AACSB accreditation recognizes institutions that have demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development and student learning,” Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International stated in a press release. “We congratulate Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Dean Gary Stading on earning accreditation and applaud the entire A&M-Texarkana Team—including the administration, visitors, staff and students—on their roles in earning this prestigious honor.”

Stading, who is the dean of the College of Business, Engineering and Technology, said earning the accreditation is more than a symbol of high academic quality and that it is a symbol of academic excellence. He added that the designation has been earned by only five percent of the world’s business schools offering business degrees. “This percentage becomes minutely smaller for schools of our size,” he said. “It is one thing for larger schools to accomplish this feat with the money and the resources they have available but it’s another thing for a school of our size. It requires not just resources but focused hard work from our faculty and staff. The standards can’t just be adopted. They have to become part of our soul and our way of life.”

AACSB accreditation provides a framework of 15 international standards against which business schools around the world assess the quality of their educational services. To become accredited, schools have successfully undergone a rigorous review process conducted by their peers in the business education community, ensuring they have the resources, credentials and commitment needed to provide students with a first-rate, future-focused business education.
