Speaking of Second to None… Did You Know? Texarkana’s is the ONLY application from Texas to be funded by a USDA Farmers’ Market Promotion Program (= the most EXCELLENT “fish” in the BIG Texas pond!!) …and one of only 49 awarded nationwide – The City of Texarkana, TX in conjunction with the Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council, and the Texarkana Housing Authority will receive over $174,000 to support the market’s Cultural Food Diversity Initiative, for growth and expansion of the Farmers’ Market this coming year through the use of cultural foods and events, an expanded mobile market into neighborhoods, and online ordering.
