Pleasant Grove Principal Natalie Reeves Leads Reading Initiative
Natalie Reeves has been with the Pleasant Grove Independent School District for eight years and was named the Margaret Fischer Davis Elementary School Principal in November of 2020. During her time in education and at the Pleasant Grove Independent School District, Mrs. Reeves has held teaching, intervention, and leadership roles at the elementary and intermediate levels. Mrs. Reeves attended the University of Arkansas where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Mrs. Reeves went on to complete a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as her certification in Administration from Texas A&M-Texarkana. Mrs. Reeves and her husband, Malachi, have one son, Barrett.
Mrs. Reeves is currently leading a reading initiative at the Margaret Fischer Davis Elementary School in which the campus is challenged to cumulatively read one million minutes by May. Students are earning “brag tags” as they meet their reading goals. In addition, staff members are modeling a love for reading by placing “What I’m Reading” information about themselves outside of their classroom doors. Mrs. Reeves is leading the way at Pleasant Grove ISD and in Texarkana by cultivating a culture of reading and love of learning.
