Ben Neuman, PhD is a world renowned virologist and former head of the Biology department at TAMU-T and is a local expert on COVID-19.  He has been interviewed all over the world and was part of the committee which helped name the virus.  He has 25 years of research experience with coronaviruses and has currently taken a new position at Texas A&M in College Station as Professor of Biology and Chief Virologist at the Global Health Research Complex.  During the pandemic, he started a Facebook group titled “Dr. Ben’s Science Group” (Ask Dr Ben), private group formatted as a Q&A where he answers questions regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
