Texarkana Gem – Mr. Charles Parks
Stepping Up to Lead the Way
Mr. Charles Parks
Building Maintenance, Lead; Crosswalk Guard
TISD Morriss Elementary School
Kyndel Griffith has recommended we profile TISD’s Mr. Charles Parks as someone who is stepping up and leading the way in Texarkana. Kyndel has had children attending TISD’s Morriss Elementary since Fall of 2019, and she says, “Mr. Parks has always been someone that my children have come home talking positively about. They describe him as someone who can always be counted on around the school to fix problems or even throw a football back to you from across the fence at recess. Every day, you can also find Mr. Parks in the parking lot making sure everyone stays safe during drop off and pick up. Lastly,” Kyndel reports, “I have also had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Parks speak at the school’s Veterans Day program each year, because he is a proud U.S. Veteran.” THANK YOU Kyndel for lifting up Charles Parks for this recognition – and an even BIGGER THANKS to Mr. Parks for leading the way in demonstrating what LEADERSHIP looks like.
“What is leadership?” asks John Maxwell; “leadership is influence – nothing more, and nothing less,” and there is NOTHING that matters more in influencing the behavior of others than example.
