Congratulations to Denis Washington, President and CEO of Chamber of Commerce

The Texarkana USA Regional Chamber of Commerce board of directors voted unanimously to name Denis Washington as the president and CEO of the Chamber. Washington has been serving as interim president and CEO since May 2022.

“I have enjoyed my time at the Texarkana Chamber and look forward to moving the needle further in a permanent role; …Our plan for 2023 will include more visits to our members, delivering well-rounded content, hosting networking opportunities, a continued focus on workforce development and business retention and expansion,” said Washington.

Denis is undoubtedly well-equipped to lead the Chamber, one our community’s seminal organizations working towards Texarkana’s success. Washington retired from Regions Bank in December 2020, after a 34-year career in banking. He began his commercial banking career with Texarkana National Bank. He is active with the boards of TexAmericas Center, Leadership Texarkana, Texarkana Symphony Orchestra, The Texarkana Public Facilities Corporation, ARTEX Regional Development Corporation and JCM Industries Advisory Board. Washington was the 2011 recipient of both Leadership Texarkana’s Idalee Hawkins Leadership Award and the Chamber’s C. E. Palmer Award for civic service.
