Sue Johnson is Leading the Way in Texarkana USA
For 48 years, Sue Johnson, BAAS, RN, has been serving Texarkana as a healthcare leader at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System. Her current role is Director of Advocacy and Planning, but her impressive tenure includes a variety of operational and clinical roles including Emergency Services Director in 1977, Director of Outreach Services in 1995, and Interim Director of W. Temple Webber Cancer Center in 2005.
Johnson holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences from East Texas State University, Texarkana, TX, and an Associates Degree in Nursing from University of Arkansas-Monticello, Monticello, AR. She was previously board certified in emergency nursing and is a member of several professional organizations.
Johnson has also been active as a community leader in Texarkana, serving on the Texarkana, Arkansas City Board of Directors from 1996-2016 and as assistant mayor from 1997-2000, as well as a former board member for Texarkana Urban Transit District, Our Children First Coalition, and Temple Memorial Rehabilitation Center. She and her husband, Steve, have two children, Stephen and Shane, and five grandchildren.
