5:30 p.m., State Line Avenue in Downtown Texarkana. Presented by Farmers Bank & Trust, Dine on the Line is a two state, two city event that brings the cities of Texarkana, Arkansas & Texarkana, Texas together to give a toast to our community. Be a part of something truly special and be a part of downtown revitalization! For our FIFTH year, it’s time for a date night. This year’s ticket will include a seated, farm-to-table meal that will be served to you at our unique dining table straddling the state lines. Eat dinner in Texas with a friend in Arkansas! We will also have a beer garden (as well as wine available for purchase), and live musical entertainment by local band Chasing Rita. This event will coincide with the unveiling of the new Dr. Pepper mural being painted on TLC Burgers’ building. TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE TO THIS EVENT. 5:30 p.m., multiple locations. This is our chance to gather as a community and stand up against crime! It is a free family event geared toward Police and Community coming together the fight crime in our area. You’ve heard the saying “It takes a Village…”? So mark your calendars! 5. Running Home 5K
Saturday, Oct. 5
2 p.m., Spring Lake Park. The Running Home 5K Run/Walk will be held within the 145 acres of Spring Lake Park. The course will take you around the spring fed lake, throughout the park, passing baseball fields and frisbee golf course, all while running under the shadow of the Texarkana “Twice as Nice” Water Tower. After the race, your Texarkana Board of Realtors and its affiliates welcome you to enjoy an area of entertainment and education on buying and selling real estate. 6. Opportunities Inc. Brewery Benefit

3 p.m., Pecan Point Brewery. For one day only, Pecan Point is closing its doors for an Opportunities, Inc. exclusive event. With 10 craft beer and food pairings, you better bring a big appetite! The pairings were hand selected for peak enjoyment of our guests. Ticket proceeds will go to support the mission of Opportunities, Inc. which is to empower children and adults with developmental disabilities to live full lives in our community. October is Italian-American Heritage Month and we will offer a program on Anthony L. Ghio, an Italian immigrant who was one of Texarkana’s first mayors. Entry fee is $5 payable at the door. 11. The Art of Journaling with Agnes Tirrito

9:30 a.m., Southwest Center. This is a mixed media and art journaling experience. Bring a word, phrase, verse or quote that appeals to you. This will help you create a focus for your work that day.
