3. Literacy Council’s Annual Spelling Bee

When we had to cancel the 2020 Spelling Bee last year, it was devastating to our Council. Not only did we lose a large percent of our revenue, but we also missed out on all of the fun this event brings! Although our Spelling Bee will be a little different this year, we are committed to making it our best yet! 4. National Tourism Week Celebration
May 2 – 8
Join us at the Arkansas Welcome Center at Red River located at 12555 N. Stateline Avenue, (HWY 71 North), Texarkana, AR from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM on May 6th, 2021 to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week! We will have door prizes, free ice cold bottled water, free samples of Riceland Rice and Cavendar’s Greek Seasoning (Arkansas Made products), vendors from Tri-Lakes Corps of Engineers Millwood Project Office, Southwest Arkansas Archives, CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association), and Rick Evans Grandview Prairie Conservation Education Center. Learn more!

9. Weebles Experiment
Saturday, May 8
Answer the age-old question of who do Weebles wobble but don’t fall down. Kids will not only learn how the 1971 toy Weebles work but they will also get to make their own. Our event will be on May 8th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM and it will be at the Museums of Regional History. Tickets are $5 per person and FREE for TMS members and children 3 and under.
