Texarkana Leader, Patricia Bellamy

Patricia is an engineer by trade but utilizes her life to impact the lives of students in all phases of their education, including helping students attain their GED. She has spent over 20 years volunteering as a computer teacher, math tutor, and mentor for students. Her newest venture is serving as a volunteer math tutor in a local school. Patricia has an amazing gift of helping students believe that they can successfully learn math. She states, “Hearing a young person communicate they can’t do math is nothing less than heartbreaking”. She eventually wants to retire from her engineering job at a defense company to have more time to work with students. Many students have been incredibly impacted by Patricia Bellamy.
