1. Santa Sprint *Rescheduled*

The Santa Sprint will be January 15th and will begin at the Ace of Clubs House. Late registration will begin at 7:30 am and the race will begin at 8:00 am. Awards will be awarded for the top three in each age group. There will also be snacks and drinks for runners to enjoy after the race – learn more!
2. Vegas Stars – Whiskey River

4. Theatre for Young Audiences – The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare
Wednesday, January 12
Lightwire Theater will stage two performances of “The Adventures of Tortoise and Hare: The Next Gen” on Wednesday at the Perot Theatre downtown. The family-friendly show is an imaginative sequel to the fable by Aesop that taught slow and steady wins the race. Learn more!

10. #MLK Day of Service

The Texarkana Museums System is hosting a public scanning day at the Museum of Regional History. This event is being held all-day during museum hours from 10 am to 5 pm. They are looking for volunteers to help scan documents into their archives. They also invite the community to bring in their historical photos and documents to be scanned into our archives.
Take a Walk Down Nix Creek Trail
Start the new year off right in the beautiful outdoors! This trail winds through woods and is a beautiful site especially in the fall. A huge shout out to the City of Texarkana for always keeping this trail clean and well preserved. If you love a beautiful outdoor space to stretch your legs, check out Nix Creek Trail that starts at Arkansas boulevard and heads south to 82.
