Student wins state, national awards!

With the help of the wrap-around support provided through the Literacy Council and the 100 Families Alliance, Logan Garcia learned the skills she needed to provide for herself and her growing family. Logan has been recognized on local, state, and national levels for her hard work and perseverance. She earned the Against All Odds award from the 100 Families Alliance of Miller and Bowie Counties, and she was honored with a Student Achievement Award from Literacy Texas, a statewide organization that supports adult learning.

In addition, she recently received one of six national scholarships from the Education Opportunities Center for her work as student at Texarkana College.  She is using education as a tool to change the course of her life, and she is helping others too as an employee of both the Literacy Council and Texarkana College. Learn more about this incredible woman’s story here.
