Pleasant Grove High School is a Model PLC Campus!
Pleasant Grove ISD High School has recently been recognized as a Model PLC Campus, one of only eight in the entire state of Texas! This adds to the distinction the district as a whole received in June as one of five Model PLC districts in Texas. The term PLC refers to a Professional Learning Community. As it is traditionally defined, a PLC is: “An ongoing process in which educators work collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve” (DuFour, DuFour, & Eaker, 2002).
Model PLCs are some of the highest-performing schools around the globe. To qualify as a Model PLC, a school must: Demonstrate a commitment to PLC at Work® concepts; Implement those concepts for at least three years; Present clear evidence of improved student learning; and Provide data on a yearly basis that shows they continue to meet the criteria of the PLC at Work process.
Way to go Pleasant Grove ISD!
