MakeMyMove has named Texarkana USA one of the top six Most Welcoming Places in America!
MakeMyMove recently announced six recipients of their inaugural America’s Most Welcoming Places – as six cities and regions which are “redefining how to attract and welcome new residents.” In sharing this exciting news, David Orr, City Manager of Texarkana, has written:
“Almost a year ago, in April 2024 we launched our ‘REDI Set Move’ program to recruit remote workers to the City of Texarkana, Texas & Texarkana, Arkansas. We modeled it after larger city programs such as Tulsa Remote but had no idea the response especially with recruiting to a smaller metropolitan area. But thanks to the leadership of Rob Sitterley with AR-TX REDI along with our partners at Texas A&M University-Texarkana, Texarkana College, University of Arkansas Hope – Texarkana, and the Texarkana USA Chamber of Commerce the response has been overwhelmingly positive and now we can add “award winning” named with some of the established programs we modeled after. With over 5,000 applicants in less than a year, we are just getting started. It’s proof our community has so much to offer from top rated K-12 schools, higher education, the arts, quality parks/outdoor opportunities and so much more. Excited to see how far this program can soar in the future!”
