“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek….” Thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude, and over a dozen other fairy-tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. 4. TSO MW IV – Laskarov and Saint-Saens
Saturday, April 26
A native of Bulgaria, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State Academy of Music in Sofia and a Master’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he studied with Prof. Michael Barta. Laskarov has appeared as a soloist with the Arkansas Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Conway (AR) Symphony, Southern Illinois Symphony, Abilene (TX) Philharmonic, Symphony Irvine (CA) and Texarkana (TX) Symphony and also as a concertmaster with the Monroe (LA) Symphony and McCall (ID) Festival Orchestra and assistant concertmaster with the Evansville (IN) Philharmonic and Scottsdale (AZ) MusicFest Orchestra.
