TMS’s Second Annual Gatsby Extravaganza 
7 p.m., Silvermoon on Broad. Hosted by Texarkana Museums System. 100 years ago the Prohibition Era began with the help of Sen. Morris Sheppard from Texarkana. Celebrate Prohibition’s failure with jazz, dancing, drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres included. Period attire requested, but not required. All proceeds benefit the restoration of the Ace of Clubs House & Servants’ Quarters. Back at the Four States Fairground Arena, hosted by the Home Builders Association of Texarkana. Boy Scouts of America Textile Merit Badge Workshop
2:30 p.m., Ace of Clubs House. In partnership with Caddo Area BSA Council, the Texarkana Museums System is pleased to offer a workshop where Boy Scouts can earn their Textile Merit Badge. Explore the world of Textiles that we use in our daily lives and how to identify them, as well as when to use them. Try your hand at felting and waterproofing fabrics too. Cost $10/scout, accompanying adults are free. All Scouts must be accompanied by an adult – either an ASM (Assistant Scout Master) if they come as a patrol/troop, or a parent/guardian if they come individually. Registration in advance is required through www.TexarkanaMuseums.org/Events. Spend the day learning to play the recorder
Discovery Place Interactive Museum, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. On March 23rd a recital will be held to show everyone what a wonderful player you are. Lunch and the instrument will be included. TRAHC African American Committee’s Little Library in the Southwest Center
Last week, the Texarkana Regional Art and Historic District’s African American Committee (TAAC) hosted the Grand Opening of the Free Little Library located at the Southwest Center, 3222 W.
7th Street, Texarkana, Texas. The Free Little Library will be stocked with a variety of books aimed at children in Kindergarten through 4th grade. Come by and find a book that appeals to you or your children!
