1. 2019 Great Texarkana DuckFest featuring Jase Robertson of Duck Dynasty
Friday, Aug. 9

5-10 p.m. at the Four States Fairgrounds. The Duck Fest will feature food, music by Caroline Joyce and The Dusty Rose Band and fun for the whole family. Proceeds from the event will assist the CHRISTUS St. Michael Foundation in their efforts to support health services and programs for the Texarkana region at CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System. Duck enthusiasts can also compete in a duck call contest on stage with Jase Robertson at approximately 7 p.m. for $100 (includes general admission) and is limited to 20 participants on a first-come first-serve basis. The petting zoo will be open, there will be food and beverages for sale, and children 12-and-under are admitted free of charge. Bring your own blankets and chairs! Adopt your ducks today. Dine Out at Newk’s to Support Suicide Prevention

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – Arkansas Chapter fundraiser for the AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk will take place at Newk’s Eatery on 3001 Mall Dr., Texarkana, TX from 5pm to 9pm. By mentioning the AFSP when you order, 15% of your meal’s price will be donated towards the Texarkana Out of the Darkness Community Walk in November 2019. See more on the goTXK Community Calendar.

Harry Potter Month: Sorting Day

Join us for the highly technical but extremely rewarding world of Resin Art! Learn how to properly mix Resin, correctly coat Original Artwork, and then create an 8″ Original Geode Style Work using Pigments & 3D Elements! It’s time for a Back-To-School 1894 Market Trade Days! 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the historic landmark 1894 City Market & Gallery at 105 Olive St in downtown Texarkana in the Arts and Historic District. Come out for fun for the whole family while shopping with unique local vendors including artists, artisans, craftspeople, antiquers, collectors, independent consultants, junk or garage sales, pickers, farmers, fundraisers, independent consultants, food vendors, street musicians, and more.
