2. Magnificat
Tuesday, December 5
As we prepare for our March 20-24, 2024, Carnegie Hall Tour, we will be presenting the world premiere of Marc-André’s new Magnificat and Mozart’s Coronation Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Texarkana, TX – on Tuesday, December 5. Well over 100 vocal soloists, instrumentalists, and choristers from the whole region will gather for this historic performance. Choir members from Texarkana Regional Chorale, Texarkana College Music Department, Liberty-Eylau Varsity High School Choir, Huntington High School Choir from Shreveport, LA, & Shorter College Choir from Little Rock, AR will participate. Learn more!
 

3. TRAHC Presents: The Muses “Voice of Angels”
Thursday, December 7
The Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council presents The Muses’ Voices of Angels, a timeless celebration of peace and joy showcasing sacred classical Christmas music, word and dance. This festive performance is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Regional Arts Center in downtown Texarkana, Texas. Learn more!
 

4. Bi-Centennial Time Capsule Ceremony
Friday, December 8

The TXK150 Committee is a joint-effort between the Cities of Texarkana, Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas. The Committee will bury a time capsule on 12/8/2023 in downtown Texarkana to be opened in 50 years by the TXK Bi-Centennial Committee on December 8, 2073. For more information contact Lisa Thompson at (903)798-1743 or lisa.thompson@texarkanatexas.gov.
 

5. Celebrating Texarkana: Experience Your Story
Friday, December 8

Celebrate Texarkana’s story (YOUR story), on our 150th Birthday, Friday, 12/8/2023, in a multimedia experience anchored by the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra and involving Candice Taylor vocals, Two Pianos stylings, live narration, cameo actors, and sights and sounds from our past.  Honor our forerunners, witness the birth of our twin cities, learn how we developed, marvel at our many creative sons and daughters, look forward to our bright future, and be the first to hear a newly-commissioned Texarkana composition. Learn more!
 

6. Christmas at the Perot
Sunday, December 10 

TSO’s Traditional Holiday Concert for the whole family! Joining TSO will be the TSO Chamber Singers, Texarkana Community Ballet Members, PGHS Curtain Call Productions, and special guest Rachel E. 8. Texarkana Documentary – The Place That Forgot It Existed

This 3-part Sesquicentennial Cut of John Tennison’s documentary, “The Place That Forgot It Existed,” will premiere at the Silvermoon Theatre on West Broad Street in Texarkana, Texas from 6 pm to 11 pm on Friday, December 8, 2023. Learn more!
