Liz Fazio Hale
Executive Director/ CEO
Riverbend Water Resources
LT Class of 2017
In her leadership position at Riverbend Water Resources District, Liz oversees the management and operations of a local water district representing 12 municipalities, 3 counties, and the state’s largest industrial park footprint. She is charged with the proper planning and development of our area’s most precious natural resource: water. Executive Director/CEO by title and charitable heart by nature, Liz also cares for her sister with mental and physical challenges. While Liz is ever-adapting to the role of wife and mother to a wonderful husband and two beautiful, precocious children, she was born into the role of a sister and passionate advocate for others in special need.
Liz says: “As a return resident to Texarkana, I am excited about tackling the many challenges and cultivating the many opportunities in our region. As a participant of the LT Class of 2017, I am committed to 1) educating our community about the preservation of our natural resources, 2) participating in regional economic development endeavors, 3) supporting the ongoing efforts to address the special needs of our mental health community, and 4) engaging in our rich cultural and artistic legacies.”
Leadership in Texarkana for me, is navigating the various concerns of the community while providing informed and collaborative decisions on the most pressing issues – starting with economics – that we face as a region. My passion is preserving and protecting water for future generations. In our region, that means developing clean, affordable resources that help us to create not only economical but also recreational opportunities. My one wish for this area is job growth and opportunity. When individuals have the opportunity to choose their career paths, a trickle down effect of prosperity for everyone is not only possible, it is inevitable.
Leadership Texarkana provided me the opportunity to learn about the numerous ongoing initiatives to make Texarkana GREAT! I have learned that a coalition of the willing can accomplish anything!
I love that Texarkana is an extended family. My family loves participating in all of the great activities of Texarkana, but our favorite are parades, parks, and programs of the arts!
I have an older sister, Rosie, with disabilities that I care for at home. Rosie is the center of our “pack.” She reminds us daily that caring for others in need is the most challenging and fulfilling role that anyone can hold. Sometimes you do not volunteer for this position, you are chosen!
