3. Spring Break Mini Camp

The Texarkana Arkansas Recreation Center is hosting a Spring Break Mini-Camp March 20 – 24.  Fishing skills, bounce houses, rockets, jewelry making, pickleball and much more. Learn more!



4. Get Into Gardening
Monday, March 13

‘Get Into Gardening’ with the Bowie County Master Gardeners and TAMU – Texarkana in 2023. Monthly seminars focusing on gardening and garden-related topics. These seminars are FREE. Learn more!

5. Yoga at the Southwest Center
Wednesday, March 15

6. ART at Washington Community Development Center
Thursday, March 16
Come earn Washington points while you enjoy yourself learning different types of art. Each class will feature a hands-on arts and crafts project. Could be painting, bowl making, or how to make a friendship bracelet you will have to come to class to find out. Learn more!

7. Exploring Hair in History
Saturday, March 18
We will be Re-creating Historic Hair Styles. TMS Curator Jamie Simmons and Mrs. Bobbye Henry from the Arkansas Living History Association will be teaching how false hair pieces were made and how to wear them. Mrs. Henry is a Master Level Living History Performer. Learn more!

9. 21st Annual Regional Celebration of African American Artists Exhibit: Ernest C. Withers Collection, Good Night, My Love
LAST WEEK – Through March 25

This photography exhibition features work from the iconic worldwide photojournalist, Ernest C. Withers, who recorded African American history in the segregated South for over sixty years. His vast collection contains some of the most significant Civil Rights Movement activities. Withers’ ever-present three cameras captured moments of change, conflict, classic, community, bravery, courage, determination, innocence, inspiration, and love. With the added local representation from photographer Barbara Pitts Riley, and a High School Cell Phone photography competition, this exhibition details significant history lessons with glimpses of the past, present, and future. Learn more!
